It may be that not all the aims and aspirations of the founding fathers of the  Academy   have  been  fulfilled,   but  it  is  a  matter  for  gratification  that  the Academy  has,  in  a  very  substantial   measure,  Iived upto its ideals.Its wide ranging activities  have  been  impressive  both  in qualitative and quantitative terms.

Though the Academy was started in Triplicane and is named  after this locality, its membership spread to many  parts  of  the  City.  It  has  a  powerful reach with the entire country in its ambit. People from all parts of  the  City  attended its functions and the audience included several top intellectuals, administrators, civil servants, judges of the High Courts and the Supreme Court and lastly students.

If the  older  members  cherished  its  traditional  way  of  doing  things,  its appeal to the youth was no less.  To  sum  up,  it  has  been  able  to  establish  as  a unique institution In the cultural map of Chennai.
